Abstract

Hayu Permana Sari.2016.Improving Students’ Speaking Ability by Using Meaning ,Use and Form (MUF) Framework (A Classroom Action Research at The Eight Grade Students of SMPN 7 Seluma in Academic Year 2015/2016). Thesis. Program study of english education English, faculty of tarbiyah and tadris. Advisor : 1.Nadrah, M.Pd, 2.Ali Akbarjono, M.Pd. Most of the eight grade students of SMPN 7 Seluma in academic 2015/2016 were lack in English subject especially in speaking ability. This research is aimed to find out how can MUF Framework improve students’ ability in speaking ability. This research is classroom action research. There was 25 students. The CAR was done based on Riel’ design. The researcher did three cycles in which each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data were gathered through qualitative data. The qualitative data were gained by analyzing the students’ score speaking and observation sheet result. It can be seen from the mean score of pre-assessment was 47,3. Then, the mean score of cycle I was 51,4 and the mean score of cycle 2 was 62 and the cycle III was 77,4 . Then, from the result of observation sheet, it showed that there was improvement of positive responses in the teaching-learning process of speaking ability. So that Meaning Use and Form (MUF) Framework can improve students’ speaking ability.
