Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out whether the using of "mmmEnglish" YouTube Videos had a significant effect on the pronunciation ability of the X grade students of SMAN 09 Bengkulu Selatan. This research method uses a pre-experimental method with a one group pre-test and posttest design. The population of the research was the Tenth grade students of SMAN 09 Bengkulu Selatan in the academic year 2022-2023. It consists of 155 students (XA, XB, XC, XD, XE, and XF). The sample of this research is class XB with 24 students. Data was collected using pronunciation tests (pre-test and post-test). The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference in students' pronunciation skills after being given treatment using "mmmEnglish" YouTube Videos. It was verified by the value of sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000<0.05. According to the result, it can be concluded that the Null Hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Moreover there was significant effect on students’ english pronunciation skills using “mmmEnglish” YouTube Videos as media for teaching english pronunciation at the tenth grade of SMAN 09 South Bengkulu.
