Abstract
The purpose of this research is to described and analyze the love peace character values in middle school social studies textbook. This research used qualitative descriptive method. Subject of this research is the content of social studies textbook (middle school grade VII) that published by the Minister of Education and Culture in 2014. Data collection was conducted using content analysis technique. The data was then analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model of qualitative data analysis. The result of research showed that there are four love peace character velues contain in middle school social studies textbook: 1) the importance of cooperation between people or gotong royong; 2) upholding the personal rights of others, esspcially in chosing belief; 3) the importance of tolerance in faced all form of plurality; and 4) the importance of brotherhood. Others values that also contain in content og middle school social studies textbook are environment care and religious. The value of environment care is such as avoid behavior that will demage the invironment, exploitation of natural resources, hunt rare flora and fauna, and other. Religious value is such as recognize the greatness of God and thank for God for the blessings that have bestowed natural and cultural wealth.
