Abstract

The problems in this research are (1) How is the role of non-Muslim advocate in defending Muslim client (2) How is the review of Islamic law to non-Muslim advocate who defends Muslim client. The purpose of this research is to know the role of non- Muslim advocate in defending Muslim client and also to know the role and review of Islamic law against non-Muslim advocates in defense of Muslim clients. The method used in this research is normative legal research and library research (library research). Normative legal research is a study that examines the norms that apply while the research (library research) or research literature that is, is a study to obtain data derived from libraries, books, or works relevant to the subject matter in the perusal. From the results of this study it is concluded that non-Muslim advocates who play a role in the Religious Courts as well as the District Court in dealing with Muslim clients can act as a person who can provide legal assistance such as providing explanations about the law, accompanying clients if not brave and embarrassed to come to Court and also represent the client if unable to attend because of illness or because busy with his work. Under Islamic Law So a non-Muslim advocate is forbidden to handle Muslim clients
