Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of promotional costs and profitability on the amount of third party funds at the Sharia Commercial Bank in 2013-2018 periods. This research is an associative type of research using quantitative approach. The source of data in this research is secondary data and the technique of collecting datais literature study. The sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The total samples are 7 Sharia Commercial Banks that published their annual financial reports on time using the rupiah currencyfor 5 consecutive years. The techniques of analyzing data used for the basic assumption test consisted of (1) normality test using Skewness and (2) homogeneity test using the Levene Test. The classic assumption test consists of (1) multicollinearity test using Tolerance and Variance Inflation Factor (VIF), (2) autocorrelation test using Durbin Watson, (3) heteroscedasticity test using Scatterplot. In this study, hypothesis test uses multiple linear regression. The results of the study using the F test showed that the promotionalcosts and profitability variables have a significant effect on the amount of third party funds. While, the t test result showed that the promotion costs variable has a significant effect on the amount of third party funds and the profitability variable also has a significant effect on the amount of third party funds. The magnitude of the effect of promotional costs and profitability on the amount of third party funds amounted to 72.6%, while the remaining 27.4% was influenced by other factors outside this study.
